What's your mic or headset brand and model? I'm unaware of any particular model that doesn't work with the game, but that could be a possibility. If it's a driver problem then that's on the manufacturer.
My soundcard is a "Asus Xonar AE" with an analog out/input, so headset doesent matter (anyway its a Sennheiser Game One). It works fine on every program/application/game except for squad 44. And I mean driver problem in therms of maybe the driver is for some reason not compatible with your audio frameworks.
Ah, it's not a USB headset. I haven't dealt with those in years. So how does it show up in the Windows sound dialog box (the old school one) - does it say the name of the headset mic or the name of the sound card input jack?
I'm not sure but it sounds like there's a conflict having two sounds cards? Is there any way to disable the mainboard soundcard, either via Windows sound control panel or even the bios?
