Also, digging down the radio until it's silent is supposed to make it inactive which I suppose is supposed to make the FOB inactive. If that's not happening then this might be a bug.
Did you actually try it yourself ? Or are you just repeating something you heard because this definitely was a bug in the past, but as far as I know it isn't anymore and I can't replicate it.
If it is happening, like said above it must be a bug.
I think the radio shouldn't be the magical centerpiece of a fob that makes everything disappear when destroyed, instead it should be an optional constructable that can be placed for the specific purpose of providing the commander with a static radio.
There's already a global limit for constructibles, so why not let logi build anything anywhere without radios and make the exclusion zone only apply to spawn tents?
Because the devs said that the only correct opinion is to tie the ability to build with a radio, no if-s/and-s/but-s about it because they know best after all /s
Why not let logi build anywhere is cause there is then the trash meta of ammoboxes everywhere and near mains for ats to camp tanks coming.
Or bridges are blocked by things
Or something else which is dumb.
Its better if you see these things you know its tied to something.
Not that you cant do main camp fob or what ever but still i prefer the things they are
Good points but I don't think everything should be tied to FOB (radios). Historically and logically you could have road blocks or strong points without a FOB. It makes sense to limit ammo boxes, repair cranes, roof bunkers etc to FOBs. Maybe they could separate buildables into two categories - one dependent on FOBs and one that is not. Call them Heavy and Light fortifications or whatever.
The current changes don't really change that and are best a half measure that breaks lots of other stuff and have cost dev resources flip flopping about. That's what you get when you let emotions make decisions for you.
You could have easily fixed the main non meta for the sad minority that did it, the tools were already there and only a few values needed to be tweaked.
Short of a full rework of each layers main; which on many really does need it as they are badly placed, you could simply increase the protection zone and the redzone and put a no build zone there are well.
That would allow a wider range of exits so if billy no mates wants to sweat in a bush he would be out of luck. And it would to a lesser degree affect the ones in tanks unlike the current system which does nothing in that regard.
Many layers you could easily extend it out 600m which would more than ample. Smaller ones would need a little more tweaking perhaps have it more than a radial but fitted up to terrain features eg Best.
As for bridges , why would you not block them and why do think this is not possible now , given it's easier than ever to do so.
Put the radios back in the tents, no chance of that bug happening then and let the build be free rewarding those who think. Though given all the crutches that keep getting added it seems devs want to move away from skilled play.
