It's not actually one life. You are limited to an agreed number of respawns.
Usually, 3-5 dependant on the rules on that night on the plans etc..
They use PSRM, however, there are no events at the moment due to the recent update breaking stuff.
The event organisers are awaiting an update to the SDK before creating more events.
These events are usually weekly and carried on even after PG stopped development in 2023.
The link is to the PSRM discord channel. They have a clan recruitment channel.

To answer some of your questions and elaborate on what Frank has said, the 1 life events typically use PSRM (Post Scriptum Realism Mod) which tweaks game elements and functionality to be more realistic. Some examples are no zoom in ADS, maps only show friendlies within 50m, no squad chat only local. It also gives control to the admin to run the match, spawn vehicles, alter weather and time etc.. Radios must be used to chat with someone outside local range. PSRM also lets players pick the kits they are assigned before the match starts.
The matches are typically played as part of a campaign. As stated by Frank, it's not really a 1 life event but limited respawns called out in waves. Each side will get x number of waves to respawn. If a player dies, they have to wait (stay dead) until the next respawn wave is called. Since there's no squad chat so you can't cheat when you're dead. The admin can fly around and make sure everyone is playing by the rules of the campaign.
