How does low medium and epic give me around the same frame rate?

The game was never properly optimized but ran decently enough until the last big update 4.27. Update 4.27 "upgraded" the game engine but in reality introduced even more terrible performance and bugs. DLSS and NIS was added to try and band-aid fix the terrible performance but it doesn't help. Something they did in the 4.27 engine update and chapter 4 release really killed performance. Before it could be properly fixed the old dev team was fired and the game abandoned. Before 4.27 and chapter 4 the game ran tolerably. I get better frames with epic settings on 4k resolution compared to low settings on 1080p resolution after the update. Still unplayable though. Hopefully OWI can fix it because Post Scriptum is actually a great game when it runs in a playable state.

Damn...that's why the game runs around 50-70 on my rig. (Ryzen 7 5700X, 32GB, RX 6800 XT)

I just got this game a few days ago, and I have the same issue. It runs pretty bad no matter what I have my settings at, it's playable but not great.

Ryzen 9 5900X, 64GB DDR4 RAM, 3080TI.

I can set everything to Epic and it runs the same as if I set it to Low. It's not my hardware and it's not my settings, it's the game being poorly optimised.

If I jump in a low pop server the game generally runs buttery smooth, as soon as I join a fully populated server the game has all sorts of weird micro stutters and feels real janky sometimes. Also some maps will be better than others which is annoying.

I heard that most of the optimisations made to SQUAD should translate over to PS so there is hopes that performance will be significantly better in the future. I hope this is true as after only a few days this is already my new favourite game to play.

Hopefully this all gets sorted because I absolutely love playing this game but with the poor performance it's really frustrating.

It was never this bad. I've had it since 2018. PS was also never GREAT performance but I could run it pretty much max setting 90 fps or more.

The last uodate the old devs did for UE nuked the game. Then they tried quick fixing it before being fired. This has been my favorite shooter since it's inception. Currently , I'm waiting for patches. I can't play this game with how bad perf is. The new devs should focus 100% on fixing the games engine/code before anything else.
