Having played both games, my experience is that the mechanics of S44 are much more team-oriented. You need team members present to drop rallies (OPs) and you need logi to deliver supplies to build FOBs (garrisons). Sections that don't communicate, suffer for it in the form of attrition and command support. This is a bit of a double edged sword in that leading a section can be mentally taxing which discourages players from doing it.
HLL felt like a soviet soldier simulator where most people were quietly and independently rushing the objective. Charge, shoot, die, respawn. The limited number of tickets in S44 add value to each life (especially when they become scarce) meaning that tactics and medics matter. Matches are often lost or won on attrition.
The stamina and canteen mechanics are intended to slow down the gameplay to align with reality and in my opinion are effective in forcing you to stop and consider your next move (not to mention preventing all players from running around like world-class marathon athletes).
As for server queues, I tend to wait between 1-5 minutes on average, which isn't a barrier for me.
[Of course OWI is probably going to reverse a lot of what the old dev team was doing]
You can build and drive tanks in ps too and guide arty in position pretty hll shill post above..
Also how does a progression which locks you out from weapons a freedom in classes? Thats not freedom when you lock the fun out.. very weird arguments
IN Squad 44 you can:
- Be artillery too in part of mortar team
- Be part of logistics team bulding fobs, or setting up antitank batteries
- Drive tanks(you think HLL only you can drive tanks what you talking about)
- Dropping of supplies, in this game even more so
- Build system in HLL pales in comparison to this
- More teamwork, not in HLL a fact. Just funneled objectives
- Waiting times to respawn, in HLL this has resulted as medics being secondary and run&gun kiddos just waiting urgently to hit respawn button
- Classes more freedom in HLL yes, results in everybody being specialised with basic rifleman coming secondary which is battlefield style game
- Environmentals graphics are better in HLL yes, but to medium rendering distance
You obviously trying use all and any reason to make HLL seems superior when almost every point you made has been countered. Onlything that HLL does better is environmental graphics up close and faster type of run & gun action. Nothing more
Quick disclaimer though both games have their own drama /backstory wich you should read into and meny players will have their own opinions on the matter i for one am glad PS got picked up by new devs and hope they wont drop the game like the last devs
OFI has taken over Post Scriptum (now Squad 44) and have promised to revive the game and bring tons of more content.
Hmm more tourist in tourist trap

HMM MORE PLAYER ON COD WWII
Hey, more players in CoD. Go play that? One less squadmate I'd need to kick for taking a specialized role just to have the gun, ignore mics, and ignore the job of the kit they're using. lol
PS is hard to tell if its really alive or it will be dead again soon.
For me, HLL was more appealing, but I haven't bought either.
I used to play Red Orchestra 1 and 2 some, but I actually like Day of Defeat (Source) best, which is not aiming for realism at all, but it's a fun team shooter based in WW2.
