Training range
Here's an idea, how about we have a training range for players to test weapons and get to grips with things that doesn't always have ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ joining the other team just to ♥♥♥♥ with new players? REALLY gives a good first impression to people who just bought the game.

I mean even the game that this is based on has one.

There are training ranges, change your sever list to include those with no players and you will see dozens of Arnhem Range - you can try every weapon / loadout and vehicle in the game there.

The ones I remember seeing were all passworded, but I'll have another look.

Same, can't find an empty training range server, they're all passworded. The ones that are nearly full are a big clusterf*ck, can't even properly test out all equipment. Why is there no offline firing range like squad has ? This makes no sense.

You can load up the training range offline.

I never realised that, Andy, thanks for the tip.

Its h4x tho. Also im not sure if weapon stats are the same in forced offline mode. Devs meddled with that in the past to stop people playing offline.

They _really_ need to put in decent single player weapon and class tutorial map with a large tips and trick section. Doesnt need to be scripted, just some dummies to shoot with text explaining everything.

And then the online Deathmatch Camp needs to go. Its just atrocious, like "what were they thinking" bad. :(

Gotta agree, those training camp online are full of trolls who mess up everyone who just want to shoot and test weapons and vehicles but no they think they own the training range and killing everyone which doesn't make sense at all. And it's annoying to deal with those lame trolls on the training range.

An offline training option would be nice, no chance of morons pratting about then. Sick of getting shot by others even on the same side as me on training servers because they must think it's funny. Bellends.

I just logged back in to check this out but selecting "show empty" only added a few more servers to the list and they were all password locked.

Fully agree an online 'training' deathmatch is a bloody awful idea.

I wonder how many players saw the word TRAINING, joined and ended up getting spawn raped to oblivion. I'm guessing quite a few, and I wonder how many of them ended up rage quitting and uninstalling based on that. And they probably droppped a negative review to boot.

For reals make the training range offline in time for the next free weekend, and also make it fully class unlocked with a way to change class like squad instead of having to respawn.

And can we not remove the training range from the main server browser? I'm guessing few players using the browser are actually looking for a game on the training range.

type in the console: adminchangemap and than Arnhem range, it will pop up automatically, this will start the map offline, it will take about 20 seconds before it starts loading, when you are in, type in the console: allkitsavailable 1, this will open all kits to try. Don't join a squad.

The reason why there is no offline range yet is because of bugs, you will find them when you are in a offline map, like your third person character won't crouch for some reason so you always see it in your view when kneeling or getting in a vehicle. They are concentrating on working the multiplayer part where these bugs don't happen right now.

Just bought the game yesterday, and all you guys are spot on. People would join, allies or axis, and low and behold, they would shoot me. Here I am, shooting down range, changing settings as I go, changing controls to better suit me, and some guys shoots at me with a tank.

Devs, please take note of this. I like the game, but when I practice how to play, and I get killed, even by the same team, I kinda dont wanna play the game.

Yeah, some servers even have it listed as a "death match" server. We've been bringing this up ever since they released it, hopefully they can disable friendly fire to damage to players altogether, or at least make it a server option.

That is not an answer. It's fine for those of us from squad who all ready know the ropes and console, but how many of the steam playerbase trying the game on a free weekend are going to know that? Eighty ercent of the steam playerbase don't even know where to find their system specs or run a dxdiag.

And why should they have too? If the first thing they see is TRAINING after loading the game, then that is what they are expecting. Not the massacre it currently is.

Bugs are indeed present*, but it's better than what happened during this free weekend. The devs need to sort this before the next free weekend to avoid a repeat and the lost sales that resulted.

* My favourite one is blowing up tanks, then waiting for the new tank to spawn and then seeing how far it flies across the map :)

Couldn't agree more. Fortuantely I ended up on a German game server playing Wehrmacht alongside MAriskaDeville and in particular two very friendly German players. Despite my kill/ratio being beyond laughable I had a brilliant time and ultimately bought the game.
