M1 Garand versus Springfield A3.
What profit to use Springfield A3 instead M1 Garand if both are available ?

One mate said "on far distance Springfield A3 is more accurate".

But ...
In close combat Springfield A3 is useless, having no bayonet, holder havin no pistol. But on "far distance" ingame picture generate such soap - so Springfield A3 is useless again because you see nothing. LOL.

I like the sights on it, m1 garand has my least favorite sights

Springfield is by far the better choice if you wanna rack up kills from a distance. I once held of a big wave of nazi's from the church tower in Velmolen with the Springfield. That moment would have been way less epic with a M1 Garand. M1 has big recoil for follow-up shots. I'm a big fan of the Kar98k and it's the closest thing to it the Americans have.

You don't have to take it and you probably shouldn't but it does have a little more shift zoom

There is no point whatsoever in using the springfield. Only style points, it's like using only Mosin/ only m1917 on RS2: Just style points.

Springfield is for the people who can't play as sniper, but still think they can shoot, but really can't.

My idea and offer to developers - make hit from Springfield absolutely deadly like headshot. I mean player can't be revived after Springfield shot.

That is one and only way to force players to choose this riffle.

It fires the exact same cartridge with virtually identical barrel lengths meaning the speed the bullet coming out of the muzzle should be the same, there is no reason why the 1903 should be more powerful. They even weigh almost the same when the Garand doesn't have the bayonet attached.

It's not even that bad, it's at least as good as the Enfield. BAR, Thompson, and STG-44 need the help a lot more

You should always prefer self-loading rifles over bolt-action ones if it isn't about sniper variants. US used already outdated WW1 era 1903 at the beginning of war, but soon fully rearmed on modern M1 Garands.

Soviet Union was doing the same process, replacing outdated Mosin-Nagants with self-loading SVT-40, but what's enough for relatively small 1 million men US army, wasn't good enough for over 8 million soviet army, even though they started this process before US in 1936 with AVS-36.

Thing is when Germans with their bolt-action Kar 98 encountered Soviets in 1941 they were really surprised how many of soviets already had self-loading SVTs, so they started developing their Gewer 43 based on captured SVTs.

So yeah, always self-loading over bolt-action if you have this opportunity.
