What's the point of Gaokao score?

It seems like profession is determined by your end game stats. I got a good score ~650 and I ended up as indie musician for singer even though I completed the entire music skill all the way.

Yes, the profession is mainly decided by the stats. The point of Gaokao score is for university, which is similar to SAT but it will directly determine which university you will enroll. It's the satisfaction of a sense of achievement. Like most of people cannot reach MIT or Harvard, but the dream can come true here.
