Learning Traits

I was learn to subject so much but still couldn't get the traits, how many time i will get it?

Sadly it's random.

Frustratingly random. I've gone more than 10 turns in a row learning no additional traits despite only selecting activities I haven't unlocked.

I've gone multiple years, tbh, I'll end the game with like two Epic and six normal traits and then my stat growths for the next generation will be poop. I realize having kids is random, but this is a game and you'd think there's be something built in to make playing it more fun and less frustrating.
