The ingame UI is a nightmare, constant scrolling up/down perhaps is a cool thing for mobile platforms, but not for PC.
When you ascend, the basic pickaxes are reset. And not only you have to buy them again in very inconvenient separate window, called "buy pickaxe", but you have to feel all the pain again by upgrading pickaxes over and over again: switching to them (not possible during power is active) first, then clicking button elsewhere, then switching back to your favorite pickaxe, repeat...
P.S.: I should stop posting in this forum I guess, it's dead. Devs never visit it. Last three pages contains like 10 of my topics, /sigh.
So when I'm feeling lazier, I'll just sit in the first few biomes for a few hours, then upgrade the Star Core, Clock Gear, or Chronos Lair pickaxe before I reach the biomes. If I'm slightly more active, I'll use the Anvil ability while the Eye of Ender's pickaxe power is running to immediately get enough blocks to upgrade those pickaxes.
Once those pickaxes are upgraded, I don't need to upgrade any other pickaxes (other than Tritium) for the rest of the prestige.
I also use the Eye of Ender pickaxe primarily, but it inherits the damage from the pickaxe with the highest damage. Making progress very slow if you don't upgrade inbetween.
Thanks! Disabled it now, not sure why I hadn't disabled it before, is it new? Anyway, it still takes a lot of time to go through all of time, but this saves some time.
