Steel Wool... what are you all up to?

Hey all,

We've been radio silent, but no longer! We've been quite busy so I wanted to make a post about all the things going on in our Five Nights world.

Non-VR (Flat) Mode:

We're really proud of the game and wanted to make sure that all of Scott's amazing fans got an opportunity to play the game. It was REALLY important for us that we didn't just do a cheap port but really made necessary tweaks to the controls and cameras that make the Flat version feel really great. The team has been working hard and every day it's getting better and better.

When the Flat version arrives on December 17th, you can play Help Wanted in Flat mode as well as Curse of Dreadbear. NO VR REQUIRED. If you happen to get a VR headset like a Vive, Rift, Index or WMD, you can then decide to play the game in VR mode.


IMPORTANT:

This is all one game. If you buy Help Wanted and Curse of Dreadbear DLC on Steam or Playstation Store, it will work for both VR and Non-VR. There aren't two versions of the game. Some folks have emailed us a little confused.

PC version will launch with Mouse and Keyboard controls and we will soon patch Controller support.

I am sure we will catch some bugs after launch so send em our way! You guys are the best QA in the world. No matter how locked down we think something is, the amazing community has been super helpful.

Other Platforms:

We still have to be hush hush but we are absolutely planning on launching Help Wanted and Dreadbear on other Non-VR gaming platforms. Use your imagination!

Oculus Quest Version:

We know we know we know! We've been very elusive on pinning down a date. Because we're a small studio we have partnered up with Oculus and a development group that's working hard on the Quest version. We're looking at a launch in Q1 2020. We're thrilled with our great relationship with the Oculus team and all their amazing support. They really love Five Nights at Freddy's and their help has been immeasurable!

Next Five Nights at Freddy's Project:

Ooooh I would love to show all the amazing pre-production artwork and designs. It's going to be something completely new. The Steel Wool team is incredibly excited.

We wanted to give a big thumbs up to our friends at Illumix. They are working hard on Special Delivery and it is great!

They have officially launched Five Nights at Freddy's AR: Special Delivery and are releasing regular updates and fixes and feature updates.

They really are a great team and have super gracious with us. It's a great time to be a Five Nights at Freddy's fan!


We wanted to say thank you to the Five Nights at Freddy's fan community for embracing us and being such positive supporters. You guys are truly amazing. We of course want to thank the creator and our amazing partner Scott Cawthon. As awesome as you all think he is, he is even more awesomer in real life. We are grateful to him for sharing his world and allowing us to contribute our small part.

Thanks to everyone who donated to the St. Jude's Cancer Research Hospital via the Game-Theorists stream. Such a great cause.

Very happy to hear non VR won't be it's own game. Excited to see what you got in the works for fnaf9 maybe aaaa something different from the norm like a larger M rated big budget hard horror game come on steelwool give us something that will blow it out of the water.

also AR is not great it's ok but I mean professionalism and all that

Well, somehow you allow Lionsgate Games to help out with you, if Scott don't mind. Although, I'm pretty assure Glitchtrap is coming thanks to more info about him both this game and AR: Special Delivery.
