Lifespan + Should I play the regular games first?
Hi! I've never played "Five Nights at Freddy's" before... but I'm very interested by the concept of the game. I bought a VR headset a few months ago, and I just played Rick & Morty and Beat Saber for now... and I think having a real "horror game" could be great... especially since I'm a big p*ssy.

My question is, should I play to the "regular games" first?
And anybody got any idea of the game's lifespan? I'm a student, and $20 is still a cost. So I'd like to know if there are a lot of levels and a lot of stuff to do on this game, or if I could be done in less than four hours...?

Thank you, guys!

I'm a student as well and I played 3 other VR horror games, and so far this is the greatest by far. I'm not a Fnaf fan, but I really like the setting in the game and its super spooky.

Since you're new to VR, I recommend you try the Repair minigames first since those are not as freaky as the other ones.

If you love horror and a challenge I say it's a buy, my friend :)
(I played the game for over 6 hours and not done yet)

The series has been running for 5 years now, and is looking to run for even longer (at least 3 more games, 2 more books, and even a full Hollywood movie is on the way).

You can start with the VR game, but I'd recommend starting with the original games first, otherwise it will be very difficult to understand what's going on in this game.

I'm not a FNAF fan, but I've seen some gameplay clips and it looks absolutely amazing...!
The whole game looks just so scary and funny... :')
Thank you very much!

Okay, thank you! Do you have any game suggestion (since there are a lot of games out?), or should I play like... all of them?

It really depends. Would you rather play them in the order of the timeline, or play them in the order they came out?

Probably in the order they came out... I'll check on Steam, thank you!

I would start with Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator and Ultimate Custom Night. They're both free, and generally really fun. If you like those, I'd say go for this one. It's the most replayable game in the series, as there are several coins and tapes you need to collect.

It helps to be familiarized with the gameplay, but I’m sure a beginner can figure it out somewhat. As both a fan of Horror and VR, this is most certainly the best VR Horror title I’ve played, if not the best VR Horror title out there.

Honestly, I'd save FFPS for last if you're a newcomer to the series as you're not gonna understand what's going on in the game if you haven't completed SL yet. I'd say a good starting point for a newcomer to the series would be UCN as it's free and you don't need to understand the lore to enjoy the game to its fullest. If UCN feels comfortable enough for ya, then I'd get the franchise bundle and play at least the first 4 games. SL is not a requirement as really only 1 gameplay element from that game makes it into HW, and it's really easy to learn once you get to it, even if you never played SL before. Then once you get a feel for the original 4, you'll have an idea how the recreations of FNAF 1, 2, and 3 as well as Night Terrors and some of the Dark Rooms will work. As someone who has played FNAF 3 both the original and HW, let me tell ya, FNAF 3 in VR, while the gameplay mechanics are mostly the same, it's an entirely different experience from the original. So, if you feel a little "eh" towards the originals, I'd highly recommend giving HW a shot.

Alright, then your order will be:

  • Five Nights at Freddy's

  • Five Nights at Freddy's 2

  • Five Nights at Freddy's 3

  • Five Nights at Freddy's 4

  • Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location

  • Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator

  • Ultimate Custom Night

  • Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted

Oh ♥♥♥♥ I just thought...

BYELER, DON'T READ THIS UNTIL YOU FINISH THE 2ND GAME!

His reaction to when it's revealed FNaF 2 is a prequel.
