how to defend from freddy in fnaf 1?

im trying to beat fnaf 1 night 4 but freddy gets me every time. how do i know when i have to close the door to stop freddy?

If its like regular fnaf then if you hear him laugh 5 times close the door, then when he laughs the next time open the door, then if he laughs again close it again. Once he laughs five times then he just goes off and on in 2 laughs. Every time he laughs he moves.

If he's in the east hall corner close the door

Laugh 1: Dining Hall
Laugh 2: Bathrooms
Laugh 3: Kitchen (Toreador March will play)
Laugh 4: Right Hall
Laugh 5: Cam 4B (Last CAM outside your office)
Laugh 6: At your door

Shut the door when he is at CAM 4B. While you can shut it after Laugh 6 when he is directly at your door, it is much more risky
