Bug - stuck after the character screen

Tried playing after the recent update and now i'm pretty much stuck in the hub area, as if the game didn't assign a character for me to play as.

you probably picked emy or tokoroa?
those don't seem to work at the moment

Yeah it seems to be character specific indeed, there's more than those two for me though

Yeah, same ♥♥♥♥, i can't pick anyone except Alpha or PonPon
EDIT: I haven't unlocked anyone still, so... Maybe it will work with others.

Did the same for me. Still, the other characters work just fine.

Same problem. My first game, I picked Tokoroa - the screen changed, I saw the camp with all the characters chilling around but nothing else happened and any input didn't work. Not a very good first impression of the game... please fix it.

Same problem, I can't take any character at all except the very first one, everyone else just freezes

Same problem for me, none of the characters work. Playing on Steam Big Picture with Xbox360 controllers

Same here. First installation, didn't visit Settings or any other choice in menu except Solo, choosing Emy or Tokoroa does not activate them, and the screen remains there, only music and no interface. Only Alt-F4 remains to take the game down. It would be good if Dev removed these non working characters, or a lot of people will just refund the game without trying other characters or searching web for solution. Will now go play with the first two characters, that seem to work.
