It was me, George Ledoux. It's so cool that people are still playing this game!
I just got the HD version here on Steam. I was gifted a copy of the game by Time Warriors a YouTuber group who has been running a "let's play" of Majesty for the past couple of months. Here's their link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyvUYVjNXj8&list=PL9cR63PgdMh0xZar1zVDxs1qHQ8RjP4iS
Classics will remain classics whether or not you like the sequels; treat them as new takes on an old game and you will not be disappointed.
Highly doubtful. If they wanted the original spirit, they would have done it with Maj2.
Sure, if you want the more traditional RTS approach. But in that case, give it a new name (kinda how there's turn-based Warlords and RTS Warlords Battlecry), rather than Maj2.
Would be cool to see a Majesty with awesome graphics, though. It's true that Majesty 2 plays differently, but I still think it's fair to call it a sequel. It still has your classic characters (wizard, dwarves, paladins, etc) and a lot of the buildings are the same too. I actually quite enjoyed Majesty 2, it was definitely harder than the first too (at least the expansions were).
You are right though, the feel is certainly different, but as I stated above, I treated it as a new experience in it's own right and I wasn't disappointed with Majesty 2 :)
