Dropped this game back beacause of this mission in 2018 (I think). Time to do it again, for good.
Just got to this fight myself. It is incredibly infuriating to know that this fight was intentionally designed to be legitimately impossible to win. After getting through a bit of jank setting up everything, I was starting to have a lot of fun and was looking forward to the second game coming out in a couple of weeks. You can absolutely bank on that NOT happening now.
In case there is a problem you can just boost away from him for a while because he can not attack you out of weapons range and (afair) will not go stealth if you are too far away.
It is impossible, but not for the reasons you apparently think. Taking damage was not the problem; being able to inflict damage that stuck was. The combination of constant stealth and repair drones, neither of which you can do anything about, made it impossible to do any lasting damage to this guy. I wasn't getting killed from the stealth, it was a stalemate because of the repair drones. There ought to have been something in the fight to disable one or both of those things.
I finally got him after i realized you can see where he's going just after starting to cloak. He always tries to get behind you, so when you know approximately where he's going, you can turn that way and start shooting in his direction just as he uncloaks.
