Does AI competitor exists in this game?

Does this game have a competitive AI-controlled player? I love economic games like this, but I’m often disappointed when there’s no opponent to compete with for resources. Before I decide to buy, I’d like to know if such a feature is implemented or if there are any plans for it in the future.

Sadly the game's scale is a bit too small to support an AI player. I wish we could have ai/other players.
