A Worth it thread
I really think this game is only for history geeks and those who always enjoy to review battle resolve statistics (losses, routes etc..).
This game is really weaker than Europa Universalis and of course than Hearts of Iron, but it really is the only game which operates with 30-100k men armies and shows realistic resolves (3402 men killed, 5000 wounded...). It also shows us the unique 19 century time period almost untouched by other games.

TL:DR I recommend the game at the sale for history and reconstruction fans (personally I enjoy it), but as a GAME it is not recommended.

I wouldnt say it is weaker than those two games: just hugely different.
It is a game/simulation - but you can make things more gamey by changing some of the settings. i.e. increasing force pools etc

Victoria 2 is the superior game, not sure why they would make this game and then turn right around and make Vicky2 considering it's the same exact time period.

It is a much more technical game that requires much patience, this is why I enjoy it so much. Industrialising the Ottoman Empire and restoring its former glory is what im currently working on, so far having defeated the Russians in the Crimean War and having established an extensive railroad running from the Balkans to Baghdad.

This thread convinced me, I was about to click the "add to cart" button then discovered there were DLCs =_= So same question... Are they worth it ? :p

If you finally decided that the game itself IS worth it, then DLCs are ESSENTIAL.
They are not "golden shotgun", they are "+75% of content"

How different is it then Victoria 2? I have that, should I buy this as well, or is it the same as Victoria 2?

Generally nothing in common, this game is heavily warfare-oriented.

Its similar in style but is much more in depth and complex. It is very much more about the economy and development than the other games from Ageod.
