The last third of the game is essentially a spy story in the setting of cold war between the US and UK in future
Besides obvious sci-fi plot from the book, this is a very prominient theme in the game. All Commonwealth (uhh, Commonwealth, get it?) characters have very thick and distinct British accent, while Alliance guys seems to be just American voice actors. Novik, leader of the expedition has profound knowledge about Alliance military devices and also has very unusual interest for it just an old astrogator, and basically softly forces Yasna to infiltrate Alliance territory on the planet to gather intel about what they're even doing here and what's the fate of that lost military ship. It's essentially what we're doing for the entire game - gathering military intel - Yasna infiltrates alliance military base, collects various documents and photologs from robots, talks to people, keeps a mission log both in text and audio formats etc. We're doing little to no science work in the last third of the game. Also, Novik has little to no interest to container with nanobot lifeform that Yasna may collect or throw away before flying away from planet. There's always constant banter between Yasna and Novik about "why do even have interest/knowledge in the military field?" - he know how to operate alliance all-terrain vehicle, know about Alliance ship internals of he constantly shutdowns this conversation with "I had a scale modeling in childhood, yeah-yeah". Also, he straight up admits that he was the one who guided ship to Regis III on this unplanned mission. Alliance technic guy in the ship HQ in the end section even asks it directly "where did he get the information about the ship?" and Novik answers - "our intelligence told us". Novik obviously has second profession as this space Commonwealth secret intelligence agent and at this point he's not even hiding it much.
