Immersion Breaking Rover Despawn on Alliance Base
Spoilers ahead, but I need to post this to see if it requires a trigger to get spawned once more, because I am not tracing my steps back again only to trace back again once more. Sounds confusing? hear ahead:

After disabling the force field, I retraced my steps back to the alliance rover to continue using it for transportation, only to not find it in the hideout we left it. So it may have a logical explanation right? Someone must have took it! Then why the hell Yasna is not surprised at all? Isn't this something to report? SO is it a bug? I don't even know if the bug is Yasna not complaining or the rover despawning, but I also need to add that I felt Yasna in her first encounter started talking about the force field on a bit odd timing.

That 'felt' buggy. But this? this broke the immersion big time. I hope its my fault for weird movement, or a bug like trigger not firing etc...

This sounds like a bug to me. My rover didn't despawn.

Did you check your map/journal? Because the rover chould be marked as a little red rectangle on the map.

I didn't despawn, it got teleported into the field base, around to the point where you would likely continue on (next to the platform onto which you can land the Alliance probe to get the slides from it if you want to).
It happened to me too, except I left it in the base area to begin with, only at the "left" side of the mobile buildings, from where it got moved to the "right" side of them after I turned the force field off.

It also happens when you fly the crash landed saucer a little ways after the field base towards the main excavation site. After the saucer malfunctions and crash lands with you, the rover will teleport either to the entry point of the map, or close to wherever you landed with the broken saucer.

And yes, it's rather immersion breaking.

...and apparently the explanation is Novik remote controlling the rover, driving it around without ever mentioning that he is able to, and does so.
It's only indirectly hinted at when at some point you have left it at some qute remote location, and he says "your rover is nearby", and then about half a minute later it rolls up to roughly where you are and stops.

the same happened to me yesterday at the same spot.
i couldnt find the rover too and walked to the next location instead....
but soon it was very clear that i wasnt supposed to cause the enviroment looked like it.
( stones hovering over the ground, to much space and sand)....i felt like i missed the rover.
I reloaded the game from the last checkpoint, had to take care of the force field again.
When i walked out the base the rover was suddenly(?) parked in the middle of the base.
I am not sure if it was there the first time. 50/50
that said....to this point the game was so f**** immersive it was absolutely clear the rover had to be where i parked it.
It wasn't.

so....

1. it was there from the beginning and i walked past it cause i didn't question it.

2. It disappeared.

Anyway i think it would be a solution to make questmarker to the rover at this point at the game.

It was hard enough to find the the lever for the mass field imo lol.

best game for a long time btw.

looking forward to buy more from you devs

yeh, happened to me too. I deliberately stopped the rover some distance from the alliance base (you never know), when I intended to return to the rover, it was gone - despawned and respawned in the center of the alliance base.

I wasted an hour walking around and then continuing on foot, because after not being able to find the rover at its parking spot, I concluded that was the intended game design!

Sorry to Necro thread but same thing happened to me, But after reading I re-loaded back to "checking the upper level" and it does indeed teleport over to the base I must've walked right past it!

The rover seems to teleport closer to you, which is convenient, but immersion breaking.
Same thing happens after attempting to fly broken saucer and after returning to the dig site after discovering convoys fate. Rover just drives up to your location by itself.
I wouldn't call it a bug, but a bad gameplay design for sure.
