You could check Dimi's gVoodoo and other tutorial in the discussion if you like. You might want to uncheck application controlled from direct X tab, and select windowed from general tab if you use gvoodoo.
Take a look at the following links. They are Dimi's posts on this forum.
The gVoodoo might be best. You might want to uncheck application controlled from direct X tab, and select windowed from general tab if you use gvoodoo.

So any advice would be nice.
Are you using windowed mode via gVoodoo or just using Emi? I've read gVoodoo might be better than Emi. (Not that I can recommend either. It's up to you if you take the risk). I stopped playing for now. A game should be fun, if it isn't, just cherish the memory of the previous playable ones in the series.
I tried both and various windowed modes (resolution). Well i give it a try anothertime
Sorry I couldn't help! There are probably other point and click adventures out there you might like :) If you do decide to try again, you could try options that let you select your graphics card if its a good one. Have fun!
