Solution: CMI not being able to save on Mac despite using ScummVM interface

I was having trouble saving my game in Curse of Monkey Island on my Mac, in spite of using the (fn+F1) ScummVM interface. When I saved, nothing happened - no save actually got saved.

So my problem was not that I couldn't find the menu for saving, it was the save not actually happening.

I researched around and found that, while it seems others have the problem, usually the proposed solutions only go as far as pointing out how to get to the save menu (as that can be slightly obtuse in itself), though I think some users might have the same problem as me.

So, for anyone unable to do the ACTUAL saving, the problem is in the modern Security and Privacy settings for Mac - CMI needs to be allowed to write to the disk. The solution is:

- The game needs to not be running.

- Go to System Preferences->Security & Privacy -> Press the Privacy tab on the right in the top -> scroll down to Full Disk Access on the list on the left -> Press the + button at the bottom of the list on the right side, then locate the folder containing the app, highlight "The Curse of Monkey IslandTM.app" , press confirm.

- Try going into the game and test that it works out, it did for me in any case.
