Importing and editing meshes/OBJ.. etc
Hi. The new update looks and works very well! I was looking for a way to finally edit a reference model/mesh OBJ. is there a work around or maybe a feature to do this? I really enjoy doing photogrammetry and would love to import and fix my meshes in VR, I feel like I would have much more control this way instead of using Quad view on desktop. I really don't feel like installing Oculus Medium since I only own the Vive. I prefer a Steam VR app built from the ground up and willing to pay for this if it would have that much-needed feature. Great to hear! This is a feature we definitely want to add in the not-so-distant but not-immediately, near future. It would be hugely useful but we have quite a bit of work to do in other areas for now.

You can import an obj as a reference mesh then brush over the reference on a new layer with a small brush and a negative offset to align the top of the brush with the surface of the reference mesh to copy the mesh. It can take a bit of work but does produce good results. I'll be posting a video describing the workflow next week and soliciting help from the community to create custom brushes that would be useful for kitbashing. It would be great to have your help!
