Does this have multiple endings?

I just finished the game and the ending I got was... not an ending. It was like reading a book with 40 chapters and finding out the back third of the book was ripped out when you got to the end of chapter 32.

What am I missing here?

Unfortunately, you're not missing anything, the game is as you thought/experienced.

I do wish that I had a better answer, but that's how it is.

I too wish that there is a better conclusion or a better continuation. A DLC or a sequel would be amazing

Yeah that was strange. You beat the supposed fake version of the final boss, he opens a gate with gulu there, then they just reunite for no reason in the desert?
Maybe rushed development? Feels like there should have been a 2nd phase to the boss or something.
