Controller stopped working.

Played sinse release with no issues.
Re installed to play again, no controller works.
Tried everything, overlay, big picture mode, edit controller options.
I did notice that the vdf file in the folder says (not compatible).
Not sure if thats the issue or not.
(verefied gamefiles also)

Controller works fine on every other game i have, same with all other Koei games.
Tried trust, xbox, switch pro and even a ps4 controller. For some reason the game does not recognize the controller.

Did you figure it out? Try right clicking the game on Steam > properties > controllers then disable steam input> then re-enable steam input and start the game.

Also try playing with big picture mode on.

Seems to be not working. Have been searching for days to find a fix.
Gave up and started playing with M/K instead.

Mine isn't working either and its pretty enfuriating, like this game has been out for years now and it totes full controller support that it doesn't have and just tries to piggyback off of steam for free money.
also my game wont even play properly with mouse and keyboard anymore, it just seems like they truly messed up the game, which is hilarious because since launch of them game ive been one of the people that played with absolutely no issue and had no idea why everyone else had so many problems, but it seems the problems caught up with me before koei decided to fix their blasted game.
I suppose the part that angers me the most is that Warriors Orochi 4, which came out before this game HAS FULL CONTROLLER SUPPORT and was the first dynasty warriors game ever to have it, and gave me hope for the future of the games.
(and i dont mean they say they have it, WO4 actually has it and it is a delight, and that is the sole reason its my favorite warriors game...besides Shuten Doji)

i got mine working again, i had to go into the game folder and go to the Properties of the application of the game, and "disable the full screen optimizations" and that let my controller come back online...kudos

For reference the easiest way to do this is to right click on the game in your library, go to manage, then browse files, and that will take you straight to the games folder, then just look for the big application that is the game, not the config and if i remember right the option to disable full screen optimizations was in the compatibility section. (also do not run the game as administrator)
