- When at 3840 x 2160, I was finally allowed to upgrade... to 900p.
- Switching back to 1080p on my monitor did not change the game settings while it was running, allowing me to play at 900p while keeping my main monitor settings.
- Booting up the game again while at my default monitor settings would automatically set the game to 720p again.
Basically, the settings are there and technically would work, if the game allowed me to set them. Is there something about Windows 11 that makes DW9 think the monitor is smaller than it really is? Is there a way to trick the game into letting me play at my native resolution?
Whenever I change the resolution from the configuration tool, it will automatically default back to 720p when I actually boot the game, no matter what I set in the tool. (Unless I pick 600p, in which case it does so.)
As for my current specifications:
- OS: Windows 11
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070
- Monitor: ASUS VG249Q1A (1280p native?)
- Windows Display Scaling: 125%
As mentioned before, I can only pick higher resolutions for the game when I set the monitor to double resolution and/or reduce the Windows scaling for text. But since this is the only game I have to jump through those hoops for, I really would prefer not to have a process before and after playing just to be able to read properly.
Then, when you have selected "personnalized," return in graphic settings (not the advanced) and change the resolution. Then it will work.
1: Change ADV graphics preset to custom and apply
1b: Set ADV graphics settings as desired
2: Change the display type and apply at least once (in my case, Borderless to Fullscreen and back). Back out of the graphics settings and return.
3: Change the resolution to the desired size.
The game still won't allow me to pick the super-high resolution options, but with the above it not only allows me to select up to my actual display resolution on the monitor, but so far it seems to save the resolution instead of resetting it on a reboot.
