Fast Way To Unlock All Characters

[Everybody do the flop]

Cao Cao Chapters: 1-8 (You can stop playing as him when you unlock Xin Xiangying)
Xin Xianying Chapters: 6-11 (You can stop playing as her when you unlock Liu Shan)
Liu Shan Chapters: 10-13


Alternatively:

Liu Bei Chapters: 1-9
Liu Shan Chapters: 10-13



I chose Cao Cao over Liu Bei, because when you beat Cao Cao's story, you unlock a new horse. Though you have to complete his story to get his horse.

Just swap to sima yi as soon as he unlocks tbh, quite a few characters go far enough to unlock him.

You need to beat 3 stories to get Red Hare: Lu Bu, Dong Zhuo and Guan Yu.

FML! I NEVER play Dong Zhuo, it is my single most hated character in the whole game... gosh, I guess there will be no avoiding him this time then. I'll just pretend it never happened.

If you still don't want to be done unlocking everybody after one week, do what I did:
Start
Liu Bei -> notice you don't rly like Liu Bei after chapter 3
Shangxiang -> sadly stops after Chibi when she gets married to Liu Bei
Li Dian -> Had to replay a good portion of what Shangxiang already did just on Wei side, sadly retires after Hei Fei.
Wang Yi -> I thought her story would be longer, she is still with Jin afterall. Yet for some reason the designers chose to have her run around as NPC in Jin times but end her story during Wei times.
Zhang Chunhua -> Finally all the lategame I can possibly ask for, right? Nope, her story stops before the final last character is unlocked (Wen Yan).
Currently playing as Deng Ai... but I hate the way some of his attacks only hit a very narrow area infront of him.

The good news is: I will definetly be done later today!

Unlike previous games, you unlock characters as you get to the point in history where they would be active regardless of what faction they are in compared to the faction you are playing.

I haven't played any of the Wei chapters yet I've got several Wei characters unlocked.

Well I did play characters I like:
Sun Jian (1-2), pretty short to unlock free mode
Sun Shangxiang (3-7)
Xin Xianying (6-11), the first Jin character to unlock
Guan Yinping (9-13), I read the guide and confirmed her story lasts until the last chapter
Zhong Hui (12-13), to unlock Wen Yang, though I was about to pick Wang Yuanji first

I guess the shortest way to unlock would be:
Liu Bei (1-10)
Guan Yinping (9-13) or Liu Shan (10-13)
Zhong Hui or Deng Ai (12-13)

not reallym Xu shu is short. 1/2 chapter, unlocks 1st half of shu. The zou ci, kui shan.
