Inactive allies?
So I just finished the second part of Chapter 2 with Cao Cao after the very awkward experience of charging into Luoyang together with Guan Yu (the only AI officer who actually did something) while the entire alliance army... just stood outside the walls, picking their noses. In the same mission, I have found an enemy party that could not be attacked and was apparently bugged out.

I'm well aware of the buggy nature of this game (how could I not), but I'm wondering - is this a bug or WAD? Is the AI just supposed to stand there outside Luoyang, doing nothing?

if you rush like grappling over walls and rushing direct to the target, chances are the strategic bar is not tipped in your favor and thus most of your allies are not winning and thus unable to move forward.

Roleplay like normal and kill stuff and help the offense. Heh. But most people just want to rush rush rush, quick release... Heh.

I cleared every relevant part of the map. Yuan Shao, Sun Jian, Liu Bei (obviously) and naturally Cao Cao's allies are all present. Only Yuan Shu is not moving due to the invulnerable, immovable party that stands in his way (the quest to help him disappeared as soon as it triggered). The others were not stuck en route to Luoyang, they are literally standing outside the walls, doing nothing. I wouldn't be confused about this if there still was something I could do to make them move :)

I repeat there's the strategy bar... red/blue balance.

That does not seem to affect ally behavior here though. Even with all hostile officers cleared out and the morale bar about 2/3 full (couldn't get it further up without just grinding footsoldiers and relief officers), the AI isn't moving.

I did all above mentioned as a test the first time i reached a castle on chapter 1.
The bar was almost all blue and my troops were standing still
Can anyone confirm is this is not happening on CHAOS difficulty ?

Sometimes they wait on you. On this regard. Open a castle gate from inside.

Also in your chapter youdidnt have yaun shu there. You didnt save the food. So they officers there did not help. They were hungry. Waiting for you to bring food.

Alas, the gate was open - that's how Guan Yu got in.

That's the weird part: Guan Yu, and only Guan Yu, followed what I assume to be the scripted process for the AI here. All others didn't. Since the Yuan Shu quest was bugged (definitely - as I said, the one enemy party in his way did not react to attacks including not getting hit or attacking the player, nor did it move), this may just be a case of the bug causing an unfortunate chain reaction.

I dont think he was bugged. I ran inti yaun shu while exploring the land.

Circle with name. Then you talked to him and go kill a bandit force. Return he moves out.

There was also some peon base at the fate with rams and a gate and an low lvl officer. I opened that gate they poyred in.

But no one helped me on lu bu.

Later yaun shao fight. I found sun ce haung zhong and wei yan. All came to help.

The game doesnt hold your hand. Honestly i think they mostly are there for moral.

Even on yaun shao only zei when. Cao pi wife came to help kill yaun shao. All others were lined up.

Could be to let you the player be godly. Or maybe something elsr

Again, I do not think Yang Ding standing around being invincible is WAD.

But yeah, I mean, even if this case was a bug, the game could use allies being a bit more active. That also goes for enemy officers.
