Xbox and PS4 Controller Fix

Make sure Big Picture mode is enabled and Steam-In Game overlay is also enabled.

Also, open up the install directory of your Dynasty Warriors 9 and right-click it and click properties. Click on Compatbility. Now uncheck "Run this program as an administrator" and check "Disable Full Screen Optimization". (This should enable steam in-game overlay). If you have any desktop shortcuts, do the same for that as well.

1) Steam (Top left) > Settings > Controller > General controller settings > Toggle PS4/Xbox configuration support

2) In your steam library right-click on Dynasty Warriors 9 > Edit steam controller configuration > Export config > "Personal" > Local only > "name it" > Save > Exit.

3) Now go to Steam\userdata\userid\241100\remote or Steam\userdata\userid\241100\remote\controller_config\dynasty warriors 9, and delete the existing files (The name you made in previous step) and download this config I made: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1pv2NqpilmXvBfwV4s1uZg-Oo3abuIEph

Paste the config in both areas.

4) In your steam library (or Big Picture mode controller settings) right-click on Dynasty Warriors 9 > Edit Controller Configuration > Browse Config > Select the Dynasty Warriors 9 Configuration > Apply Config > Exit out.

Let me know if this works for you.

Should also work with the wireless dongle as well (Using Xbox One Elite with wireless).

oddly enough i did the xbox controller config in steam settings last night and then went to sleep. today about 50% of the time when i press start to open the menu and map, i get a frozen image of the screen where i was. i have to ctrl alt del then cancel that and when i get back to desktop, the screen shows the map as normal. xbox one wired controller worked perfectly until today with it. i tried unchecking all the steam controller stuff but its still doing it. im guessing maybe its to do with the graphics changes i tried in nvidia control panel to increase fps but i got no clue what. is it turning off vsync did it? its not like i get anywhere close to 60 fps.

Not sure how I can help with the FPS issues or Graphic issues you have. I'm running this on Max with 60 FPS on my end. I have a GTX 1080 Ti.

I'm also running everything on default as well.

Maybe try downloading and running Razer Game Booster? I use that all the time.

I think it's hard-coded to be Xbox button icons.

It wasn't showing buttons for the comboing and tutorial interface, or pause menu. It just showed a blank circle where a button image would go. I only had to follow up to step one and it works, looks just as intended as if I were playing on PS4! (I didnt have the 'Disable Full Screen Optimization' checkbox so I did not need to do that either. Thanks!

It really feels like playing the previous dynasty warriors now. Only problem remains that
some of the ui icons for buttons are misleading, but thats just a small minor issue.
I was pressing Square as X button.

Sorry. It was the best I can do with the config. Having it as X on PS4 will just exit out of the menu due to X being the space bar on PS4, so I placed it as Square on PS4 and X on Xbox. Everything else should work as normal though.

This helps, but XBox 360 controller have wrong button mapping in game. So there must be official fix for this.

You have to place in both the folders in order to find it. You have to look under personal.
