If you like fights now then you probably never was a true fun of Musou genre in the first place, because at the core of this always was three things:
1) Battle system with controllable combos. Instead there is now 1 button and optionally you can use QTE.
2) Musou and other special moves. It's here, alright.
3) Need to react to battlefield situation to not loose the game. Theoretically it's here but on practice... You just go to kill enemy leader. Sometimes you need to complete couple missions if you are too low level, to both recieve exp and make enemy general weaker. But, especially with all that resources from DLC, most of the time there is no need to bother, and all guards at the enemy HQ means absolutely nothing because you have a perfect "cheat defence" tool.
And if you are purposely ignore leader until the end to not finish scenario too soon, most of the time is taken by travel and cleaning archer camps. And neither is fun. If two armies meet on the battlefield the battle will end in less that 1-4 minutes.
Dynasy Warriors 5 & 6 Empires, had introduced Customized Features, & added more Features to Story that gives the Player a very nice Customed Experience, & allowed Gamers to create their own Chars...
Dynasty Warriors 9 goes back to the 3rd & 4th Games, adds some Elements of Emires 5 & 6 to the map Process, but changes Story Mode into a more Open World Game, but lacks in Combat Mechanics... It has both a pssitive, & Negative experience from the Gamers, but its also the only Dynasty Warriors Game that tried to be unique, & different...
I did not like any of the other Dynasty Warriors Games, & never bought them, but Dynasty Warriors 9 to me was the only one to supply good Game Saves so far, to me...
I dunno, what my fave 1 is of the Franchise, what is your favorite so far?
