Jim Sterling's #7 "Top Ten Worst Games Of 2018"

How 6 games places higher than this, I'm not really certain. I've not played them. Dynasty Warriors 9 will forever landmark this series as "How did this get past the drawing board again?". I can say with honesty that 6 was misguided, 9 was just a travesty. Here's to hoping 10 gets is closer to 8 with 9's combat and character models.

Wait people actually listen to that arrogant twit? I watched a few of his videos a while back and he just comes off as really condescending and arrogant, makes it incredibly difficult to actually take anything he says seriously.

As for DW9, sure it's not as good as DW8 but it's not the dumpster fire everyone makes it out to be. The combat is fun and the weapons are fun, including the newer DLC weapons.

The game just needs a bit more fleshing out, I'm hoping there's a DW9E or XL that'll flesh the game and open world out more because this certainly isn't as bad as everyone says it is.

I don't think it'll get an XL and just rely on more season passes for the base game. Also, all the DLC weapons are from DW7/DW8 and none of them are new. So far there's 93 playable characters and 45 weapons, but hopefully season pass 3 will increase it so that over half of the warriors don't share a weapon.

Because most people who complain about it have watched one review and last played it before the first patch. A bunch of people are probably complaining there's no way to take photos or some other feature that was included forever ago.

What the game really needs

- More focus on story: there aren't many in-battle cutscenes, and there are some very nice moments during battles that are overlooked. This is actually worsened by the terrible english voice acting and the weird character movements during scenes.

- We need back interesting systems like bodyguards, duels and hypothetical routes.

- Put some actually interesting stuff on open world: hunting is not fun, powerful enemies and bandits are not fun, and neither of them are actually rewarding.

- Fix problems with combat and camera angle, your character many times start to attack randomly to where you are not facing.

But seriously, can't say I disagree with the youtuber, the game is pretty bad compared to other DW. And Koei's DLC policy is so absurdely offensive it just puts a lot of salt on the wound.

Regardless, who cares. Make your own opinions on the game, don't rely solely on what any one person says about it. People these days put far too much weight on the opinions of one or two internet personalities in regards to how they should feel about a game. The opinions of others are supposed to be things to be considered along with your own, not things to be held as gospel. Who the hell cares that Internet Gaming Personality #58390597 said Game Y sucked.

Jimmy boy never even touches on my primary complaint with the game, in that there's zero point in having a story for each playable character when the content you play is largely the same from character to character and faction to faction. Sure you get some small cutscenes and the endings are different but beyond that it's still a lot of the same and it's tedious. I burned out on DW9 and I haven't burned out playing a musou of all things in a long while. It's just really not fun anymore once you've played a handful of characters.
