Changing characters

Hey all! I see that i unlocked a few characters, but what happens if i start a new game as them, does my main save (With Cao Cao) get deleted? Or can you have multiple stories going with different characters.
And when does free mode unlock?

you can switch characters anytime you want and still carry your items and map exploration.

each character has their own progress I think.

Tried to switch from Cao Cao to Sun Jian and returned to Cao Cao with no problems

Looked through the files, it seems there's a separate save file for each character's story along with a file that stores your overall progress. Nothing will be deleted if you start a new story.

Something to note is that the story data files are about 2mb each, so if you've started a story with each character, you'll have ~160mb of save files.

The good thing is that you only need to explore the map once and it will carry over making it much faster with other character

Haven't tried it myself, but I think once you complete a chapter with a character you can play that character's point of view with any character you have unlocked

I know that ^^ but i remember people saying there's a Free Mode too, just like the older ones.

Just unlocked it, you have to finish a story mode completely

Depends entirely on the character, if you pick one with a short story then you can get it pretty fast. I got it with Daqiao, she has just 2 stages. Sun Jian is probably the fastest since you have him from the start of the game and he dies really early.
