Just putting links here, since these things seem scattered and annoying to find.

Note: Cold Sunrise is incompatible with the Balance Patch, and may have issues with the MJ2 Collection.


Installation Order: DLC Fix, apply Balance Patch afterwards.

Note: The DLCFix has three folders called EN, DE, and FR. English, German, and French respectively. The files from your preferred language MUST be placed in the root folder.

Fix and patch are not compatible with CS, as CS is a completely different game build.

DLC fix first, as it is a setup that expands the game moddability.
Balance patch on top.

Why should there be a dlc fix patch? After installing it, my dlc connect panel turns to none. However this doesn't happen with the original files with which all the dlc shows properly connected

Only some of the DLC naturally appears. For my case, the Ice Mage and Lunord sects are not available with a vanilla installation.

Ok. But with the dlc fix, no dlc available at all in the dlc panel.

Don't trust the panel. Go into a single player mission, and check your temple list.

All the 8 temples are available to be built without the dlc fix patch. I think it is ok to play with the vanilla installation for me now.

By the way, I found this dlc fix patch will corrupt the in-game store with nothing showing at the panel at all, making skins inaccessible to switch.

The way to switch the castle skins is by clicking the DLC buttion at bottom left of the main menu and connect to the store where you can switch between the three customes.

So wanna give the dlc fix a try, but would love to be able to change skins.

What issues are there with CS and Majesty 2 collection on steam?

I noticed that CS did ask for my gamergate login.

Its been ages since i used that site, but i remembered using the installers there, but nowadays, i rather prefere the convenience of steam version.

Is there any difference between them? and which gives the best compatibility?
And could you somehow make CS more compatible with steam, so you can switch skins?

If the fix is right on the doorstep, then maybe i should hold out until you get to release it, Hapuga?

Also am I the only one who get confused by this game having 2 different majesty 2 steam forums.

It makes me wonder if there is some technical differences between this and the other majesty 2 steam version, since you can only buy that other steam version now, and not this one.

Does that mean that is the official one now?

I dont hope they abandon this version and only support the other one in the steam store?

Also noticed that in the readme in CS, it says one should create a new profile. I did that in CS, but now the steam version of majesty 2 cannot switch profile.

Also if i have 2 profiles, 1 for the steam and for the CS gamersgate version. Which one should i modify according to the dlcfix and balance patch?

This steam is for collectors edition, basically, all expansions + dlcs + base game in 1.
Other forum is for majesty 2 only.

It is silly that there is a divide like that, but it is up to the publisher (Paradox) to deal with.

CS is a standalone redistributable that is a heavily modded version of M2 with a different campaign.It was made by fans (me and my team), and is not compatible with DLC fix, Balancing patch and other things.

Yes, you may wait till weekend, I will post an updated version that fixes the skins.

CS and any other M2 install use the same users folder, so be careful, you may overrite progress of CS with M2 and vice versa.

That sounds great. I cant wait to see the result :P. Its nice to be able to look through the item/spell descriptions from that dlc tab.

I think i figured out, what to do. I just remember to switch back to steam profile in CS. Then i might not overwrite. Would be nice if one didnt had to switch profile, but if it overwrites its lucky one can switch back to the steam profile again in the modified version used by CS.

I love that you try and implement some of the changes from CS to majesty 2 + exp, as to improve the experience there. Would be cool if you could use some of the units from CS aswell.

Hopefully i can still play CS after applying dlcfix and balance patch to the majesty 2 collection on steam, if i just switch back and forth between profiles?
