1. Have at least 6 clerics. There's a ton of undead in that level, and having more healers is always a good thing.
2. Be sure to find his bagpipes/beloved in the NW corner, preferably before day 75 or so. He attacks around day 81 - 84. Differs occasionally.
3. Fortify your defenses enough to take care of the ogre that attacks periodically, but don't destroy his home until near the end. If at all. Two upgraded guard towers usually do the trick. The ogre is a great way for your heroes to gain experience.
4. As per usual, try to get as many trade posts as fast as possible. I typically play on randomize, so I don't remember where they all normally are. You may want to have a scouting party at first and then restart the level, so you know where everything is.
5. Pretty typical Majesty tactics, but if possible recruit Paladins and Priestesses. 81 days should be more than enough to do so. Resurrecting can save you bookoo bucks instead of waiting for the graveyard.
2. usually head for it on day 70 incase something makes me retreat.
3. usually make 2 or 3 towers but randomly did try 4 or 6 (for the case of not paying heroes to attack and because most of tthe time 2 sewers seem to be on the top).
4. impossible since the dens creatures kill the trading posts unless i kill most of the dens which means i wont be leveled up. (unless its just because they see the builder or something)
5. was too lazy to change heroes lol and killing elementals when they surround me is too wierd
And that damn bears hut next to the start possition is like the biggest waste of recruiting heroes. the most i have gotten is about a third of skeleton kings like left.

Easy way was build a guild for cleric warrior rogue and ranger.
Built hall of lords.
Build your economy fast as you can.
Wizard guild then magic bazaar for the gold.
Also keep rebuilding the trade post to the west. It is the only one you can safely keep rebuilding.
I used 3 regular towers and 3 dwarf towers south of the castle to guard my base.
At the end I did not need them to stop the King.
Send the troops out to the west and find the Ogre nest.
You really need to have it gone by day 50 or so. Also take out the 3 crypts north and west of your castle as fast as you can.
By day 60 have you marketplace maxed and you blacksmith to level 2 all weapons and armor upgraded to make it easy.
Have castle at level 3 and build a dwarf guild by day 50.
At this point take out the bearmen spawn.
Best to leave them till your heroes are over level 10.
As for heroes , recruit any melee that is over level 25.
Higher the better to keep your base protected.
Undead will overrun from the north for at time after you
take out the three closest undead crypts.
At day 79 flag the king's old queen's grave and get a ranger to go and do its thing to weaken the King.
You can't kill him if you don't as he is double strong until you do that.
At day 85 when he came at the castle I had
3 rangers up to level 15
3 rogue about the same
3 warriors around level 12-16
3 clerics at level 19 ( build them first to get them leveled faster than the others)
3 dwarfs around level 10
and then the heroes
2 warriors one at 26 one at 28
1 cleric at level 23
All weapons and gear upgraded to level 2 {1000k)
and at day 70 I recruited 3 mages just for grins.
Put a 2k bounty on him as he approached my base.
All guilds had most upgrades as they are needed to damage this creature.
The Skeleton King never made it to my base.
It died in about 5 minutes. If you upgrade your dwarf guild to have the magic immunity the high level clerics kept them alive.
Also my main warrior made it to level 31.
Seems at level 30 he gains immunity to KD attack so him and the dwarfs just bashed it to death.
I hope this helps anyone stuck . I tried a lot of other players tactics and some of them worked but I never had the final kill on him until I did this.
High level clerics are a must, and the dwarfs help out a lot.
Getting the quest in the northwest finished really helps with killing the skeleton king, and getting a temple of agrela with the AoE healing power unlocked is extremely helpful for keeping your heroes who don't die in one hit from the skeleton king alive. When it hits 75 days is when you should start destroying spawners to remove distractions for your heroes.
Edit: Temple of Fervus is pretty much required for most of the boss fights in Majesty 2. Chaos shield provides significant magic resistance for all of your heroes, which helps them survive against these overused magic nukes the bosses like to spam all over everything.
