Gonna try to play this game again with these fixes, thanks Hapuga!

Patch updated.

How do you install this with the Collection? Just having resource.mod causes my game to crash no matter which game I try to load.
Hapuga Dec 15, 2016 @ 7:56pm
You need the DLC fix first, did you read the comment? Download the DLC fix, install as specified in readme, download patch, slap it on top.

That's what I'm asking about. Installing the DLCfix causes the issue, I just tried again on a fresh install, and the game still gets the "assert failed" crash.

EDIT:
I tried again and checked the resources folder, "resource_pp_0X.pakbu" does exist. Is there a proper installation order from fresh steam install to patch?

It may be that the DLC fix is not load game compatible. Do new games work for you?
Lt. Rooney Dec 19, 2016 @ 6:39am
On a clean install I immediately get the "assert failed" error. If I install the DLCfix I still get the error. Deleting "resoruce.mod" allows the game to play, but without any DLC. I've checked and "resorucepak_pp_0X.pakbu" exists, so I assume "DLCfix.bat" did work.

Is that all it say, "assert failed"? Does it tell what assert? It should not work without the resource mod folder, it should assert. hit me up with a private message, we will sort it out.
Lt. Rooney Dec 19, 2016 @ 4:01pm
The error appears after the Collection menu. When selecting Majesty 2 or Kingmaker the error reads:
"Assert failed!
Assert failed, elems <= static_size,
D:\M2_Assembling\_temp.source\M2_PC_MasterRelease_Paradox\common\StdLibrary/Std/Array.h, StdLib::StackArray<struct
Game::Magic::Spell,50>::reserve, 74"

On selecting Battles of Ardania or Monster Kingdom the error reads:
"Application aborted!
Action "lizardman_phoenix_mk_attack" not found!"

Removing "resource.mod" gives a different error, but deleting it and hiting "verify integrity of game cache" on Steam gets the game to work again. The DLCfix shipped with the game runs and restores "resource.mod" although the DLC material is still unavailable.
Using "verify integrity of game cache" does not restore the game to working order without first deleting "resource.mod" after I attempt to install DLCfix.

Sorry, I don't know if Steam does private messages.

This is very odd, you are the first to report such an issue. The spell assert means that the resource limit is hit on spells for a static spell container (50 slots), this is why I rename the paks.

Try this. Remove all paks from resource_expansion 1/2/3, and remove the DLC paks ir resource/ folder. After that, copy just the bat + fixdata, run bat. both files should disappear. now copy the resource.mod, overrite. This should work, because this works for everyone else.

That did work, and now I think I know what the problem was. DLCfix.bat was creating a backup for resourcepak_pp_0X.pak but not deleting the original file.

Thanks a lot for the patch and the help!

why when i run the DLCFix file it deletes the DLCFix and fixdata files?
Hapuga Dec 31, 2016 @ 12:17pm
Cleanup. As the files are no longer needed, I simply delete them from your system so that you have a clean folder, and don't have leftovers if you decide to uninstall the game.

Hey,
I didnt had much crashes till now in first 3 expansion but now in Monster Kindgom in Dwarf mission crashes in 27th day.
I used the Game from GamersGate edition.

And after 3-4 crashes I had a BSOD with Attempted Execute of Non Execute Memory.
Since restart it crashes at same place.

Send me the save file please. Go to paradox forum on the link, and attach your save as a zip. I'll take a look. It is very rare that software like a game would cause a BSOD. This may be a problem unrelated to the game.
