Stag on the mountain - crystal flower glitch?

Having made it all the way through the stag mission to the crystal flower in the cave, I can't pick the flower. Clicking on it just prompts the dialogue, it doesn't highlight and no matter what tool I use it doesn't register as clicked. I closed the game and reopened it and then the Buck disappeared from the cave, but clicking on the flower still just prompted the dialogue.

Is this a known issue? Any fixes?

I have the same issue and it's so frustrating :(

while shears selected come closer to the crystal flower and hit the right click

also you need to clean snow bandits area first to open a safe passage for Buck otherwise "pick the crystal flower" quest not shown
