stuck on 'creating a session'
when I(windows)play with my friend(macos) we get stuck on the creating a session page when we try playing multiplayer, once in a while. we are playing on the crossplay branch. we relaunch the game several times and it still does not work. we don't know what the problem is. please help

Same issue. Me and my girlfriend are using the cross-player beta version. Though it works for weeks, the team 17 "inviting a friend" function just stuck in the "creating a session"

The problem we encountered is that both my friend(win) and I(mac) are using the Crossplay branch on steam. There was occasional lag before, but at least it works, and we were able to play online together. However,both of us were unable to enter the matching mode, nor play together, with a prompt of sth like "network connection error". We have also encountered one or two instances of getting stuck in "creating a session".

me and my friend changed back to the normal branch. before my friend(mac) couldn't click anything and was stuck on the main screen but this time she could. we created a session and went in a game, but as soon as the game started she couldn't move and the timer was not counting down either. when she relaunched the spacebar didn't work and she was stuck on the main screen again.

If you're playing on the cross-play branch then any friends you want to play with who are also on Steam need to be on this branch as well.

Hello, me and 2 friends facing similar issue when creating new session for online play. All 3 of us tried hosting using the invite button on team17 but got stuck at "creating a session". All 3 of us are using steam account only. no cross-play involved.

To help you out, could you take a moment to check out the steps in this article [team17.helpshift.com]? Also, it might be a good idea to contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) about opening your NAT—this could make a difference for you and your friends!

If you’re still having trouble after trying those steps, we’d love to gather a bit more info from you. When you have a chance, could you let us know:
  1. What country you’re in?
  2. Your Steam Download Region (you can find that in Steam Settings under Downloads)
  3. Your internet speed (you can check it with this Internet Speed Test[www.speedtest.net])
  4. Whether you’re using a VPN?
  5. What your NAT setting is?
