Thanks for getting in touch with us - sorry to hear you're having issues with the start screen on Overcooked! 2.
Unfortunately, this is a known issue and the team is working really hard to solve it - I have logged your report with them and we're hoping for a fix as soon as possible.
The Crossplay branch can sometimes act as a temporary workaround but if you're playing with friends, they will need to also jump on the Crossplay branch to be able to connect.
If this is not working for you, we do apologise, but please rest assured the team are investigating this at present.
That said, thank you for letting us know about this issue and for your understanding in the meantime.
Regards,
Team17 Support
Thanks for getting in touch with us - sorry to hear you're having issues with the inputs on Overcooked! 2 for Mac.
Unfortunately, the latest macOS Sonoma update has caused significant issues with certain apps, impacting Overcooked! 2. Our team is actively investigating, yet we're uncertain if the problem stems from Apple or our end. Regrettably, we cannot provide an ETA for a fix but kindly request that you persist in trying over the next few weeks.
As a temporary solution, kindly switch to the Steam cross-play branch. You can revert to the normal branch once the issue is resolved. Please note that if you use a controller, you may encounter issues when playing with this beta version. To install this version, please try the following steps:
- Launch your Steam client
- Right-click on Overcooked! 2 in your Library
- Select Properties
- Select the Beta tab from the left-hand panel
- Next to Beta Participation, there will be a drop-down menu > select the Crossplay branch from here
- This will now install on your Mac
Once this has been installed, reboot the game and see if the issue persists. If you would like to play online with friends following this, they will need to follow the above steps and join the Crossplay branch also.
@Purple - we're glad to see that the crossplay branch is currently working for you, thank you for confirming!
Our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused in the meantime.
Regards,
Team17 Support
The crossplay branch unfortunately didn't fix this under MacOS. (I'm also not using a controller but a wired keyboard)
So I'm basically currently using the Windows build under Wine + D3DMetal on MacOS and it has been working fine. Getting a steady 60FPS on my device. Obviously the power draw due to the overhead is slightly higher, but it's pretty manageable!
Thanks for getting back to us.
The cross-play branch is on Steam itself, this should allow you to be able to play the game while the team looks into the issue that is currently being experienced.
We hope this helps.
Thank you.
Regards,
Team17 Support
