Thanks for getting in touch with us - sorry to hear you're having issues with the inputs on Overcooked! 2 for Mac.
Unfortunately, we're receiving similar reports from other players who are also having the same issue. The team are aware of this and are working hard to address this.
We have logged your reports with the team and they will investigate further - we're hoping to release a fix as soon as possible.
We have found a temporary workaround that has resolved the issue for some players in the meantime. To do this:
- Launch your Steam client
- Right-click on Overcooked! 2 in your Library
- Select Properties
- Select the Beta tab from the left-hand panel
- Next to Beta Participation there will be a drop-down menu > select the Crossplay branch from here
- This will now install on your Mac
Once this has been installed, reboot the game and see if the issue persists. Please do let us know how you get on with this!
Regards,
Team17 Support

Thanks for getting back to us.
The team will continue to investigate the issue but we're really glad to see that this workaround works for you in the meantime :)
Please don't hesitate to reach out in the future should you have any further queries.

Team17 Support
We're sorry to hear you're having this issue as well.
This is most likely due to your friend not being on the same branch.
Please ask them to switch to the cross-play branch as well, you should then be able to play the game without any issue.
We hope this helps!

Team17 Support
We're sorry to hear you're having this issue.
Can you please tell us what happens exactly when trying to play on the beta version?
Do you receive any error messages? If so what are these exactly as shown, please?
Get back to us when you can.

Team17 Support
my friend and i are both mac and both using cross-play branch, we had fun playing the game for several hours, my friend invited me into the game, there were only few times i got kicked out due to the sudden disconnection of the internet which was totally acceptable,
but now i just neither can join my friend's invitation nor invite her into the game, any ways to fix this? my friend's game is running successfully since she can still send me the invitation.
it always says it's internet connection error but it had worked before under same internet connection situation, and i am sure that i always kept the accelerator on while playing the game
thanks

Are you able to make it into the main menu or are you stuck at the first press any button screen?

Can you both also please go through the connection steps below:
1. Check your broadband quality by running ping on Mac. You can find the steps here.[www.macworld.com]
2. Reboot your router.
3. Reboot your Mac.
4. Disconnect Bluetooth.
• Click the Bluetooth icon at the top right (the runic B next to the Wi-Fi icon) and select Turn Bluetooth Off.
5. Forget the network.
6. Turn off Airport, go to System Preferences > Network, then select Wi-Fi in the list on the left and then click Advanced. Select the network you wish to forget, press the (-) and agree to Remove. Once you've done this your Mac and other devices using your iCloud Keychain will not join that network. Then try connecting to the network again.
7. Check if your router is not overheating.
8. Check your router's location.
• You will get a better signal if it's not on or near any large metal surfaces - so don't sit it on a filing cabinet, for example, and don't put it right next to a radiator. Move your laptop closer to your router and see if you get a signal from there.
9. Use Apple's Wireless Diagnostics
• Open Wireless Diagnostics. Either search for it using Spotlight (Cmd + spacebar), or hold Option/Alt and click on the Wi-Fi icon at the top right of the screen, then select Open Wireless Diagnostics.
• Before you click Continue to run a report, go to the menu and click on Window > Performance (or hit Alt + Cmd + 5).
• This will generate three graphs that will tell you about the transmission rate, signal quality, and signal and noise levels. If you monitor this for a few hours you may be able to identify whether there is a problem.
10. Change your Wi-Fi channel.
11. Use the 5GHz band, if it's possible.
We hope this helps!

the worst and saddest thing is that i don't know where exactly the problem is and i feel helpless\hopeless to solve it myself, maybe the knowledge i acquired is too little
some methods can't be processed thoroughly, like the 1.\9. and 11.
i am going to lose her. i am desperate. my friendship is going to disappear because we can not cook together
i guess dumb people don't deserve any friend
i already started to miss her
Thanks for your reply.
Have you tried the above provided steps at all?
Are you using a VPN at all?
