how to do Co-Op online with 2 local players

From the main menu, ensure you have Player 2 has press A and is in your co-op game.
Once you have done that, select Arcade, Online Public and you should be able to play Online Games with a fourth player.

I'm sorry but I press A(keyboard) and nothing happended.
only if I use mouse and press "add split screen",and then, me and 2p can use the same keyboard in different side.
do u mean I need another controller to play this game?
I do have general controller,it's works in other games,but didn't work in Overcooked2.
I dont have PS4 or XBOX controller.I can't buy a new controller,becus I already buy 2 overcooked for 2 PC,for showing that I do support overcooked team.

I'm sorry, Player 2 has to press A on a controller or Space if you're using a split keyboard. After that step please check the Arcade > Online.

I did press A or space,but nothing happend,usless I use mouse to select 2p.
ok even if I use space to add another local player,when I try to invite steam friends,
system will warning that "You're goint to online,it's will remove all local visitor"
my problem is how do I invite 3rd friend fro steam,and keep 1p and 2p local player still.

no I can't,u didn't understand my problem,
I want to play with my family in the same PC,so I have to add 2p locally,
and then I CAN'T playing any online mode,

I can playing in the same PC with 2player,
I can playing online with my friend,
BUT I CAN'T add locally 2p and then invite steam player to play any online mode.

We are not seeing the issue you are seeing. We are able to connect to players online and then select Online Public game and play with players. Have you Tried Online Private?

The local guests should not be removed. Can you please tell us what builds you are on? Open settings - select game and tell us the Build Number in the top right of the Game Settings menu.

Yep I tried all online mode,private mode.but this is not the point.

The problem is, before I send invite to online player, local guests will be removed,
it's show me warning messege!
when I has one local player and I tried to invite online friends,
system will force me(warning messege: You're going to online,remove all local guest) to remove all local guest.

So,I can never has any local player and online player at the same time.

step 1.open game-->step2.press space to enter the game-->step3.add local player with split keyboard successful,so my screen now like this describe:
"1p and 2p all called Faith.lightmoon,but using a split keyboard,1p using left side and 2p using right side"
-->step4. now my screen shows "player3 press A/Space to join local game"
-->step5. move my mouse move to player3 icon,only shows "invite" option

PROBLEM IS HERE-->I press "invite" option,and system show me warning messege that "You're going to online,remove all local guest"
and here is two option below:
--[Keep playing game] [Cancel]--(I'm chinese version so I don't sure that option in english is correct or not)
-->choose "Cancel",nothing happen,go back to 2 local players.
-->choose "Keep playing game",so local player will be removed,and system show me
"Please wait
Faith.lightmoon is building new game"
and then turn into Steam's friend list,also remover local player.

With Split keyboard, you cannot play online with a local player. You need a separate controller to allow the guest to play online and not get them kicked out.

hmm.......this problem really confuse me several days,and these days you team just gave some simple answer that I already knows to fudged me,utill today. u told me another WEIRD answer,I bought your game by steam with my keyboard,but I should have another controller to playing multiple game online?

I bought 2 Overcooked2 for 2 PC,do u mean If I want to play 2+2,I should buy another 2 controller or 4 Overcooked2?

Do u satisfy about this answer if you were me?
I bought this game from PC,not XBOX or PS4 or Switch,right?
why should I play this game by controller but not keyboard?

Ok,after this,I tried to use common controller to play 2p,but it's not work,my controller is fine for other games.,but not in Overcooked2,it's no response!

I WON'T buy new one controller again,it's not reasonable!
Should I buy every kind of controller to tried??

PLEASE solve my problem:
1.I want to play this game online with KEYBOARD only,becus I bought Overcooked2 from Steam not XBOX,playing PC game with keyboard.this is my rights and interests.
2.tell me how to setting my controller becus it's didn't work,Or offer me new one controller that support Overcooked2.

Hi,

We are sorry for the hassle, but the game has been designed this way. A 2nd player needs to use a controller so you can invite a 3rd and a 4rth player. However you, the 1st player, can use a keyboard or a controller, both are fine.

Can you please confirm the exact model of your controller so that we can recommend a solution?

I know Overcooked2 by friend's Switch,this is really good game,but I only have PC,
so I bought 2 games on 2 PC.
Why should I buy home video game controller to playing PC game?
This is preposterous,I even dont have home console!

I'm so disappointed about these approach that your team took this time.

Actually, I Google a lot and tried every possibility to solve my problem.(still no way to solve)
I have no choice but using contoller to play,still no work,so I tried to use simulator to active controller,finally,it's worked.

How complicated,for a PC game,don't you think so?
