2 local + online 1 + online 1 not working?

Hi, I've recently bought this game on my PC to play with 3 other friends as we've been big fans of the first overcooked game. By checking out the details of the multiplayer function, it is mentioned 2+2 currently doesn't work. But 2 locals + 1 online + 1 online should function.

But every time I start up the game, setup the split keyboard for 2 locals and try to invite my online friend, the game forces me to kick out the local player no 2 with the message "You are about to go online. Any local guests will be removed from your session."

How do I resolve this? It is quite disheartening to find out it isn't as straightforward as we thought. :(

Hey it is good to hear from you. I do not have an issue with connectivity nor online play with others.

It is the game forcing me to kick out my local 2nd player and disallowing me to play online with my friends. I'd add a screenshot if I could from the in game notice. I believe the initial post should be clear enough.

The way the game is designed you should be able to play online with the players and the number of platforms you have. 4 players across 3 platforms.

Can you please ensure you and all the additional players you have playing with you have done the troubleshooting steps listed in the link above and see if the issue repeats itself.

Hello, again appreciate the response from your party. I have done the steps as stated above from the link bar the NAT.

I actually found a youtube video describing my problem exactly. If i click continue as per the end of the video, I'll go online alone and be able to connect with other online players but my local player is kicked and unable to enter the online lobby.

The message is caused by the split keyboard, which you're trying to use online. Unfortunately, the game supports split keyboards and controllers in local mode only. So all you need to is to make sure, that your friend is connected with his own controller or keyboard, so you can go online without the issue.

Is there any plans to support split keyboards for online in the future? Not everyone has a controller for pc. I feel like this is a wasted opportunity.
