Can't invite friends "Checking online privileges"

I'm playing on Mac, and every time I click on invite friends, it says "checking online privileges" and nothing happens. I tried restarting everything and still no change. Please help asap!

Yes, the same thing's been happening to me since last night when I downloaded the patch update! I play on Mac (via Steam) for months now, and not had this problem until yesterday. The problem still persists!

Same issue here. I'm on pop_os!
Issue only happens in beta crossplay version. Main version works fine.

Solved under Pop!_os 20.04 by installing windows version through Proton 5.13-6. But the ideal situation would be a working cross play native version.

I can host games, but still have trouble joining other's games.

If so, can you please confirm whether you're on Windows or MAC?
When exactly does the issue occur? Is it when using the cross-play branch or the normal branch?

im using mac and it only occurs when im using the cross-play branch.
