Sorry to hear you're having this issue.
Do other games have working sound?
Can you please do the following:
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Sound, then click Output. Make sure Display Audio is selected in the output device list.
Please also check through the following steps in this guide[support.apple.com].
Get back to us when you can.
Regards,
Team17 Support
Another thing is the sound works fine in my macbook with intel chip but not for this mac mini with M1 chip.
Thanks for your reply.
That's very strange. We've not had any reports of sound not working correctly on this chip.
Can you please load the game and then check that the sound is turned up in mac sound settings? You can use the following page for help:
https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/mac-help/mchlp2256/mac
Unfortunately, we don't have any other reports of this issue on M1 chips so we would recommend that you contact Apple Support[support.apple.com] for more help on this issue.

Team17 Support
Thanks for your response.
The volume has been turned up.
I don't think this is on Apple Support side because other my steam games work well.
Who can help on this? Could support team help?
Otherwise, I may not recommend buying this game to others as this issue may also occur on them who are using mac mini M1 as well.
Thanks for your reply.
You're currently speaking with the Team17 support team.
As mentioned, we haven't had this issue reported by other users on the M1 chip, therefore this seems like an isolated issue.
It may be worth contacting Apple Support to see whether they have any other steps they could give you as we are only technical game support.
We have passed this to the team for further investigation, however.
Could you please share your FULL system spec so that we can pass this to the team as well as this may be of some help?
- Expand the Apple Menu by clicking the Apple icon in the top left of the screen
- Select About This Mac
- Copy the information provided into your SYSTEM INFORMATION section
Ideally, this information would be provided with confirmation that your system has been fully updated and the exact system model if known.Regards,
Team17 Support
I managed to find a workaround for this. It is working for now.
Thanks for the support!
Glad to hear that - can you share the workaround in case another player needs help?
Regards,
Team17 Support
my workaround is to connect with a wireless headphone first, then start the game. After that, I can select another output (or speaker) and the sound is working normally.
If I don't connect the wireless headphone first, the sound is just not working (no sound). I've tried other combinations, nothing works. This is the only workaround that works on my side.
Not sure why this can work on mac mini M1.
Thanks!
We're sorry to hear you're having this issue.
Unfortunately, if you're having the issue with multiple games then this seems to be an issue with your MAC or audio hardware such as headphones, etc.
We recommend contacting Apple Support[support.apple.com] and your audio manufacturer support for more help on this issue.

Team17 Support
