Sorry to hear you're having this issue.
Can you make sure that your graphics drivers are fully up to date?
If you go back to Catalina does the game work without issue again or does the issue continue?
Are you using wifi or ethernet?
Do you experience the issue in singleplayer mode or playing with friends?
Get back to us when you can.

Thank you so much for your reply.
I searched it up online and they said that mac includes any graphic drivers update in its software update so I doubt that the graphic drivers for my mac is out of date. It's not really practical for me to go back to Catalina as I updated to Big Sur to use xcode for my class work, but what I can confirm is that there's no problem for me to play this game smoothly before the update(that is when I used Catalina previously).
I usually use wifi when I play the game but I don't think the problem lies with the internet as I tried playing singleplayer mode (arcade couch mode) without internet connection. There's no problem for me to enter the game, but the experience was really bad as it was extremely laggy.
After reporting this, I tried adjusting the settings in the game by lowering the resolution to 1280x800 (from 2880x1800) and the game works just fine but the overall experience is a whole lot different as the graphics really differ much (as compared to what I had experienced previously before the update).
Thanks for getting back to us.
Could you please share screenshots of how the resolution looked before and after?
Is there any other resolution that you can use at all that looks better?
Can you check 1920 x 1080?
To take a screenshot, please make sure, that you have Steam Overlay enabled in your game
- Go to Steam -> Settings.
- Click the In-Game tab.
- Check "Enable Steam Overlay while in-game"
- Go to Library.
- Right-click on the game title and select Properties.

I am currently on macOS Big Sur version 11.1
So sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue - can you please confirm if you are experiencing actual network latency (lag) or is more of a graphical issue?

Sorry to hear you're also experiencing this.
We've passed this across to the team for investigation.
Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

I've updated macOS from High Sierra to Big Sur 11.2.2. When I started Overcooked 2 I got ingame frame drops, the lag makes the game unplayable. Had no issues on Hight Sierra.
I've lowered the graphic option to lowest, tried Steam beta update but nothing seems helpful.
