Switch Pro Controller Support
When I try to use my switch pro controller with Overcooked 2, it doesn't work. I tried it via bluetooth and a wired connection and it still didn't work. I hope there is a solution for this because I will request a refund if I can't play with a controller.

Hi! Same issue with my Switch Pro Controller on PC
My Switch Pro is correctly detected on Steam Big Picture: buttons & tests work.
Even in the Gang Beast game my switch controller is working.

However impossible in Overcooked 2 to get any input response with my Switch Pro Controller

Hey Pol,

Thanks for getting in touch with us - sorry to hear you're having issues with your Switch Pro controller in Overcooked! 2.

Can you please confirm that your Steam Pro controller is also enabled in the Steam client settings as well as the Big Picture settings? To do this:
  1. Launch the Steam client
  2. Click Steam in the top-left of the client > Settings > Controller and make sure the  'Enable Steam input for "Playstation/Xbox/Switch Pro/Generic" options etc are all toggled on as needed.
  3. Then simply plug your controller back in and retest the game
Can you please also make sure that other controller settings are toggled off in both Steam and Steam Big Picture settings?

Can you confirm if you have any other peripherals plugged in when this occurs - this could be other controllers, racing wheels/pedals, joysticks etc?

If so, please can you unplug all of these items and retest the game?

Get back to us when you can and let us know and we can investigate further.

Regards,
Team17 Support

Hi everyone, I did not find any solutions while reading through this thread, but I eventually figured it out after some time. For some reason when Steam translates the Nintendo Switch Controllers for Overcooked 2, it does not translate it to another controller but as the keyboard instead. I only realized this after playing around with the controls and using a community layout from someone else. What I did was look at the keyboard controls on Overcooked, for example, it is E to chop, then go to my controller settings for Overcooked, and change any button I want to be the keyboard input E. Do the same for all other controllers, change joystick up to arrow up on the keyboard, etc. Just translate all keyboard controls to my controller. I didn't even need to be in big picture mode, but do make sure the options for enabling steam input and for Nintendo Switch controllers are checked. This worked for me and I didn't see this mentioned anywhere else while looking for solutions so I hope putting it here will help someone.

Worked for me as well! Have you tried it with multiple controllers of the same type? I have switch pro controllers and tried using a split keyboard configuration in game but I can't figure out how to apply different layouts to different controllers.

I'm guessing different types of controllers would show up as new keyboards.
