Are you asking about Switch and PS4 controllers?
Controllers are all supported however there are some issues with some on MAC (Not Windows).
This is being looked into currently.

Hi QQ[tw],
Do you still remember how did you connect 2 ps4 controllers to the game? I connected my 2 ps5 controllers and use the enjoyble for Mac for mapping, but both of the controllers can only control the same chef in the game.

We're sorry to hear you're having this issue as well.
As mentioned above, this is currently being investigated.
You can try some steps to see if they fix this for you by changing some of the Steam settings.
Firstly, please unplug your controller. Then attempt the following:
- Launch the Steam client
- Click Steam in the top-left of the client > Settings > Controller and make sure the 'Enable Steam input for "Playstation/Xbox/Switch Pro/Generic" options etc are all toggled on as needed.
- Then simply plug your controller back in and retest the game
Please make sure your Input Controller Settings are set correctly also, these steps are the same but in two different areas - we like to check that both are enabled to be sure:- Launch the Steam client and select View in the top-left of the client and select Big Picture Mode
- Go to Settings in the top-right of Big Picture Mode > select the Controller tab on the left-hand panel and make sure the 'Enable Steam input for "Playstation/Xbox/Switch Pro/Generic" options etc are all toggled on as needed.

Honestly didn't think I would get an answer, thank you very much for getting back so quickly!
I can see now that in May you were aware of the issue and that some patch was pushed but then rolled back
Any way to get my hands on this specific branch or have you completely removed it?
I'm not trying to play online, just coop on my computer
Regrettably, the content has been entirely removed, and at this moment, we do not have information on a future release date. Have you had a chance to explore any of the workarounds suggested in this thread?
