Are you able to check if your Xbox One controller works well with the game while it's connected via a cable?
If it won't work then please let us know if you're having a similar problem with other games from your Library?
Could you please send us your system information following the steps?

With the xbox one controller connected via cable,
1. I see it show up as "Controller" under System Information > System Report > USB
2. I see it work with http://html5gamepad.com/ on chrome showing up as "Xbox One Controller (STANDARD GAMEPAD Vendor: 045e Product: 02ea)"
3. I don't see it showing up under Steam ("No Controllers Detected" when I'm in the general controller settings menu)
4. I cannot seem to use the controller when running overcooked 2 (same issue as before, no input from the controller can get past the loading screen)
With the xbox one controller wirelessly connected,
1. I see it work with http://html5gamepad.com/ on chrome showing up as "Xbox Wireless Controller (STANDARD GAMEPAD Vendor: 045e Product: 02fd)"
2. It works with Rocket League
3. It doesn't really work with Superhot, can move menu selection around but not actually select anything
3. Does not work with overcooked 2 (documented in initial post).

This is an issue we are investigating with Mac and other Games Controllers. Can you please try the steps here: https://www.macworld.co.uk/how-to/mac/use-ps4-xbox-controller-mac-3626259/ for the Xbox One controller.

I've been experiencing the same problem, my wireless controller works for other games, but not this one. I went to the site you recommended and I downloaded the .dmg file but this did nothing, I see the Xbox icon appear in system preferences but it doesn't detect a controller. Now I'm not sure if the file supports wireless controllers at all. I also can't figure out if it's a game bug or if it's related to my computer/controller. I don't know what to try next, let me know if you have questions or any advice. Thanks for all of helping us, it's greatly appreciated
A patch to correct this issue would be very much appreciated.
the same!!
The same problem! Hope this can be fixed soon!
It seems that there is some sort of problem or conflict with the Bluetooth drivers.

Hi Krause,
Were you able to test using one of them connected with a cable just for troubleshooting purposes?
