Is this game just about going from a to b?

I just bought this due to the good reviews, but after 2 levels I feel like I'm just running between two points before serving a meal. Does it get better?

Game is fun with friends, idk why you feel it like a chore, but cooking itself is a series of chores to finish a dish if you look it that way
