Legit question- why should I ever buy the Overcooked! 2 - Gourmet Edition

As someone who owns Overcooked AYCE and Overcooked 2 with all the DLCs, I can say there really isnt much reason nowadays to buy Overcooked 2 now than Overcooked AYCE is available. Although Overcooked 2 has a bigger community, Overcooked AYCE is cross-platform and so there is not much difference in terms of the ability to find people to play with.

The only reason that really comes to mind is this: If you really like Overcooked and want to double your chances of finding someone online to play with, owning BOTH Overcooked AYCE and Overcooked 2 will double your chances of finding nice people to play with.

But if you are only interested in owning one of the two, you are definitely better off buying Overcooked AYCE in my opinion, largely for the reasons you listed in your post.
