We have removed the crossplay update from Steam.

Despite the recent patch that officially removed Overcooked 2 crossplay between steam and epic users, steam users CAN still do crossplay with epic players. However, there is something you need to do first that is not explained.

In your steam library, right-click on Overcooked 2, select "properties" and then "betas" and choose the "crossplay branch" option. Once downloaded, this will allow steam users to play crossplay with epic users.

Note that the download is a few GB, so it could take awhile depending on your internet speed.

Also note that the steam-crossplay-branch and normal steam Overcooked 2 games are not compatible. This means, for example, that if you have the steam-crossplay-branch of Overcooked 2 and your friend has the normal Overcooked 2, you will not be able to play together unless you revert to the normal Overcooked 2 or your friend also downloads the steam-crossplay-branch.

Changing back and forth between the normal Overcooked 2 and the steam crossplay branch of Overcooked 2 does not delete your story mode progress or accumulated stars.

Note that some levels (notably 6-5 on the original campaign) are currently buggy when using the steam crossplay version.

Maybe if you followed the instruction of "Please see this post for details" your question would be answered? Literally the first sentence: "With the number of issues affecting Steam players since we launched the crossplay update, we have decided to roll the Steam version of Overcooked 2 back to the version that was live before the update."
